ELMCATS
ELMCATS (COMMUNITY OF ARTISTS, TEACHERS AND SCHOLARS)
ELM is committed to increasing access to high quality music experiences for our students who show commitment, drive, and talent. elmCATS (Community of Artists, Teachers and Scholars) provides a pathway for dedicated, motivated students to deepen ELM’s impact through a private lesson program that includes: private lessons, chamber music, access to music festivals and summer camps, upgraded instruments, and mentoring, outreach community performances, and community service opportunities.
To this end, we will create a pipeline for ELM students to excel as musicians, to expand their musical horizons and opportunities, and to inspire our younger students and community, the elmCATS program.
ELM Teaching Artists will identify and recommend students for our CATS track. We will consider playing level, interest, age, length of participation in ELM, demonstrated commitment to their instrument and to our community as indicated by consistency of attendance, level of preparedness, initiative, commitment to and support of their musical peers.
